Saturday (Afternoon) August 25th - Third Annual Toronto Parkdale Festival 2007 photos inside and outside the Masaryk-Cowan Park Community Centre. The festival is geared towards and features kids age 13 to their early 20s, but lots of younger kids come out too. "They're the next leaders of today," Bryen Dunn said of why he believes it's so important to support young people. "I've got a lot of youth involved, but I'd like to see them run the festival. They're the next generation. You have to show them a positive influence." Thirty organizations are on the festival roster. Since its inception, the festival has evolved to include two stages this year, one boasting 10 bands, the majority of which play locally and the other is dedicated entirely to youth performers, everything from puppetry to dance, hip hop and rap. This years festival included a stunning arts and craft show, community service agencies helping to Parkdale youth find homes, jobs and community support.
